July - Sew Powerful Purse #20 - finished

July - Sew Powerful Purse #20 - six days later and it is finished.

 

 

 

 Over six days, it has taken about four hours to make, about an hour and half to cut out eleven different pieces, some needed interfacing. 

then the front flap and pocket and front flap lining - pieces 1 - 5, which took about an hour and a half..

then pieces 6 - 11 

and finally earlier today, joining pieces 9 - 10 to create the lining and stitched the strap (piece 11) to the bag and then stitched it altogether and top-stitching the edges and then ironing to finish....

then time taking photo's and editing, about an hour... 

...so if I was to sell for the time it makes at the minimum wage of £8.20 an hour, five hours, it works out at £41.00 not including fabric, interfacing, thread. 

But I'm selling for the price of just £16.50 plus P&P and donating £5 towards the Sew Powerful Purse Project. The rest goes towards the cost of posting bags I make and donate to the Sew Powerful Purse Project.

For me it's about making a difference, not making a profit.
