So here is the view from my Mum's bedroom window at dusk looking across the garden...
and downstairs from the living room looking across the garden...
and then the view to the right from the living room...
and from the porch...all you can see is the scaffolding, a messy noisy scruffy eyesore which won't come down till March 2015!
and the view from the other bedroom window...
...overlooked by the new housing development next door...
...this is the reason we have been unable to sell the house
these windows overlook the garden, so any privacy has now gone...
this is what greets you when you come out of the back door...
...then back downstairs, the view from the kitchen window, a lovely brick wall, this development is less than 3m away from the house so I don't know how planning was granted in the first place!
Not the ideal view from a kitchen window but I'm going to make an austrian blind to fit above the extractor fan and put a net curtain on the bottom half of the window and if you have any other ideas then please let me know!

Crikey that is close Jo, why not build a massive fence to block the view of the windows next door, we have some redwood trees in pots that grow to great heights, stick some of them in your garden. Was the development legal ?

Was it legal, I personally don't think it is but I sent an e-mail to the planning person at Barnsley Council and have been ignored! The trees sound like a good idea! my Mum used to have high fences up but they blew down a few years ago when we had the gales! Jo x
