2023 - 20th July - latest energy statement from E-on...

Just received the latest energy statement dated 20th July - DD going up to £109.79 a month

so using their figures of annual gas use from the latest gas bill after giving a meter reading today

£1,046.20....... annual gas usage (estimated)

£165.87.......... then add debit balance 20th July

-£780.00 ........less £15 week extra payments

£432.07 ........leaves a total - then divide by 12 months

= £36.01 Direct Debit - month at the most??

yet the monthly direct debit is now up to £109.79 a month?

as I pointed out, I make an extra weekly payment of £15 week, yet for some reason this is not taken into account when working out the direct debit, my husband gets paid weekly so making an extra payment each week, it is easier for us to budget

it is so worrying where energy companies get the figures from, do they pick a number then double it and put a few 0's on the end?

for some reason energy companies seem to interpret not being able to afford to pay and refusing to pay as the same things....

Edit - a form arrived in my email in box and they wanted feedback so this was my reply....

yes I am aware the account is in debt, thank you! By putting the direct debit up to £109 a month, there will not be enough in the bank account to cover this payment, therefore it will be returned and any direct debits due out to other companies, eg electric and water rates and insurance , council tax etc etc they will also be returned which will incur fees therefore your direct debit payment will put me further into debt, which for some reason as a company you do not seem to understand this and seem to think that yours is the only company who needs to be paid!

there is just me that sorts the bills out, just fed up of this year after year...
