2026 - 17th August - Millie's results...

Well its just over a month since one of our cats, Millie, age 17 was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, she hasn't been eating much during the hot weather so I delayed her medication for a week (it is called thyronom which costs £21 a month inc postage just for a small bottle 30ml in size)

But last week she went to the vet again for bloods doing at a cost of £90, this was just to get her T4 levels checked, they were 155 and now have come down to 36, but should be between 20-30 for a cat her age.

So we are just going to continue the dosage each day, 2.5 she is doing well on it, she has a good appetite and is fussing for food so why mess about with it and then in 3 weeks time, if the dosage would have been changed then it would be £90 every three weeks to check T4 levels.

So we said as much to the vet, who is very nice but I thought with the health plan at £16.99 a month for two cats, the blood tests were £45 but apparently not, that was just for the first vet check up, if we had a full blood test that would have been near £200, just cant afford it,

We have two cats to look after, not just one...

Oh and my health, I got the results of my diabetic eye check and I've got diabetic maculopathy, oh well, nothing serious is it???

Just keep calm and carry on looking after everyone and stuff me and my life...
