2025 - 15th February - humming noise part 4 & Valentine's Day...

Really really noisy today, quiet for the most part of yesterday , quiet humming/vibration from 7.30pm then at bedtime, hubby went to the bathroom, flushed the toilet = cold water, then washed his hands - hot water  and thats when it started really bad again from about 11pm and non stop all day!

Had the Homeserve plumber for the hot water tap in the bathroom out this morning and he changed the washer on the tap, but he seems to think it is the electrics.....

I still think it is the electric light in the kitchen as that is directly underneath the spare bedroom but we have and electrician coming out tomorrow so what he says...the electrics haven't been checked since 2010 and apart from three double sockets in the kitchen the sockets are mostly single sockets and all of them have extensions (9 in total through the house) on them so maybe the old electrics just can't cope with modern things...

1. boiler now checked twice - but the humming/vibration noise continues and I think has got worse
2. hot water tap in bathroom = no
3. switched off fridge/freezer - double socket
4. BT battery pack for the digital landline? 
5. wi-fi router?

oh the other day, turned off the stop cock and drained the taps and the noise did sound quieter for about two hours until a hot water tap was turned on which is why I was convinced it was the tap because last year had the same noise with the cold tap and that had a new washer last year and the humming/vibration noise stopped...that was Homeserve

It was valentines day yesterday, stayed in and had a lazy day watching the last season (6) of Cobra Kai

and had a Morrisons meal deal for tea...
