so this bloody noise will not go away, wtf is it???
Thursday 13th March
- so didn't flush toilet - used jug - cold water tap on bath = no humming/vibration noise
- filled kettle from kitchen sink - cold tap - humming /vibration noise started (the washer in this tap was supposed to have been changed the other week but I don't remember seeing any old parts from this job?)
so off to google again and answers for humming/vibration noise in pipework are...
- air lock in system = water hammer noise - so fit water arrestor - is that covered under my current HS policy or a paid plumber or a paid job with HS?
- to get rid of air lock , or just drain the system, turn on all taps for 10 mins?
- high water pressure / check with water pressure gauge? Is that something HS can do or do I ask Yorkshire water to do that, bear in mind it is a two week wait just to get someone out from YW and then they don't really do much anyway?
central heating has been on from 7.00am and no humming/vibration noise so that rules our boiler problems as not hot water been uses so far this morning?
no doubt to be continued later....
edit 4pm -
- still no homeserve out yet
- and had an email back from YW - can't hear anything in the house and nothing on the external stop tap to indicate a leak so no further action required and closed complaint
